I was commissioned to shoot a short documentary for Conservation International to tell the story of Bolivia’s Amazon female weavers, “Las Tejedoras Tacana.” As part of a larger project to promote the work of these women and preserve the cultural heritage of Indigenous traditions in the Amazon rainforest, I traveled to Tumupasa, Beni, for a few days to meet these talented weavers, film their captivating process, and hear their stories.
